Do you need to obtain a police report?

Background Check Request Form

*Times:       8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Public Records Form

* Cost:          $5.00 per report
        Records section is closed during weekends and holidays
                (reports are made available 5 to 7 working days after incident was reported to police)

* No second or third party Background History request will be accepted. The person needing the background check must apply for it in person. A fee of $5.00 will apply to each background check. Please send Check or Money Orders, NO CASH PAYMENT will be received via Mail.

* No reports will be faxed or emailed.

* A valid picture identification card must be presented when requesting a Police Report or a Background Check.

Do you need to claim property?

* Times:        8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

* In order to claim evidence you must bring a letter from the Santa Cruz County Attorney's Office authorizing this department to release any evidence, if the items were seized during a Police Investigation. The person making the claim must bring with him a valid photo identification card.
